- Relevance: Topics for print and online publication are selected based on their relevance for consumers, highlighting current topics of research and discussion to provide our audience background, sources, and expert and patient insight to help them make informed decisions about their health.
Editorial Policies
Content Review
OMNI editorial content is subject to a stringent review process wherein articles are reviewed by medical editors to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all information.
Content Sources
OMNI editorial content is written either by our staff medical writers, staff oncologists or by other independent physicians, healthcare professionals or health writers whom we commission. We require that writers reference current peer-reviewed medical journals, when applicable, and that they cite those references accurately within the text of the article. When the sources in an article are other than peer-reviewed journals, those sources are also referenced and cited within the article. Only appropriately-credentialed medical professionals are quoted within editorial content. Content is independently reviewed by staff editors for accuracy and appropriate references.
Conflict of Interest/Ethics Policy
OMNI staff editors and writers and contracted writers are required to disclose any financial investments in or involvement with any health-related company that may be the subject of editorial content that the individual is writing or editing. If there is even the possibility of a conflict of interest, the story is reassigned to another writer or editor.
